- Colin was the star of the Pro Mazda race today. he was involved
in the first corner madness and emerged from the carnage in 25th
place. His drive thru the field to 7th was fantastic.
Here was his view in the first turn. One car off to his right
and another in the air cutting across his front. After this Colin
started picking car after car. He never stopped pushing and took
little time in making the passes.
The last pass was a dive bomb on the inside of turn 11, that was
used on the highlight reels Sunday night.
Practice for the race started off bumpy. Packing 40 cars into a
2.25 mile track results in tight quarters. In the famous corkscrew
Colin was hit by a spinning car and damaged his rear suspension.
The Blueacre team got the car ready for the next session, but
track time is short and getting the car set up was a challenge.
Qualifying went well and Colin was pleased with his time, until he
say the line up.........16th! The other drivers had picked up quite
a bit of speed over the practice times and Colin had not.
This
was the last Mazda race of the year. Colin was driving the Forest
Barber owned car, run by Blueacre Motorsports.
Next on the schedule is testing of a Porsche GT car in
preparation for the Daytona 24 hour race.
