8-18-2006 - Colin
has to sit out Sears Point - Tobacco contracts
Ovalo Texas - For the last time in his
career, Colin will be forced to watch from the sidelines at Sears
Point August 26th - 2006 because he is a minor. The IRL is
racing with the Rolex cars and like at Homestead and Watkins Glen,
contracts between Phillip Morris and the IRL and the track prevent
drivers under 18 from competing on the same weekend. This time
it is no surprise for Colin as Krohn Racing had no intention of
entering Colin for the Sears Point race after the problems
encountered the previous 2 events with the IRL.
Colin will be at the track helping the #76 drivers
to continue the success and keep the championship lead. Jorg
Bergmeister will be joined by regular Krohn Racing driver Nic
Jonsson. Nic is normally driving the #75 car with Tracy Krohn,
but this weekend Boris Said will have that duty. Boris teamed
with Jorg in #76 to win the Watkins Glen 6 hour this year when Colin
could not drive.
Colin hopes to spend some time in the Speed TV
booth during the tape delayed broadcast starting at 3:00pm eastern
the day after the race, Sunday 8-27-2004.
