Jorg Bergmeister won his first Grand American Rolex Series drivers' title. "This is fantastic, I love this feeling," commented the new Daytona Prototype champion.

He may have been the solo winner of the title this year; however on many occasions, Bergmeister has given high praise to his young co-driver Colin Braun, who due to his age, was not allowed to race at the same venue that a tobacco sponsor was present.

The Krohn Racing trio of racers who needed to bring the car home in the top 15 to guarantee their German racer his championship. Besides the two team regular drivers, Nic Jonsson did his share of the nine-hour drive to finish sixth overall at the Miller Motorsports Park.
