CONCORD,
N.C. - Roush Fenway Racing driver Colin Braun will make
his first career start in the NASCAR Busch Series at Memphis
Motorsports Park this Saturday in the No. 16 3M Ford Fusion. Braun
has competed in three ARCA Re/Max Series races this season for Roush
Fenway with one top-five and three top-10 finishes. He also made his
debut in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series last weekend at
Martinsville Speedway.
I'm looking forward to my first Busch Series
race this weekend," Braun said. "I've never raced at Memphis before,
but I tested the ARCA car there and spent a day at Caraway with
Eddie (Pardue, crew chief) and the guys in the Busch car last week.
We tested with the same car I will be racing this weekend, so just
having the seat time is important to get the feel of these cars. I
think we have a pretty good racecar for this weekend. It's going to
be fun driving the No. 16 3M Ford Fusion this weekend."Eddie Pardue on racing in Memphis: "Everyone on
the 3M team is looking forward to working with Colin this weekend at
Memphis. We spent a day testing with him last week at Caraway and it
went really well. He gave us great feedback and worked well with the
team. We got about 23 runs in and worked through a lot of the usual
stuff. We did some simulated race run adjustments and helped him get
acclimated to this car."
In addition to his ARCA races, Braun competed in
the Grand-Am Series in 2007. In 15 starts, he recorded nine top
five's, 12 top-10 finishes and one pole.
The Sam's Town 250 at Memphis Motorsports Park
will be this Saturday, October 27 at 2:30 p.m. CDT. The race will
air live on ESPN2.
