Colin in live web chat for Watkins Glen
WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. -- Watkins Glen
International will host its next LIVE driver chat on the WGI Fan
Talk Forum on Wednesday, July 25th and will welcome one of the top
young drivers in racing today. Current Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car
Series driver and future Roush Fenway Racing driver Colin Braun will
be the next featured guest and will be available for fans questions
from 7:30 PM – 8:00 PM. He follows up a very successful chat with
fan favorite Boris Said.
All of these live chats are open to any and all race fans that go to
the WGI Fan Talk Forum or the WGI homepage (www.TheGlen.com). A link
to the live chat will become available to all visitors at about 7:20
PM and will be active for the entire chat.
Colin Braun might only be 18 years of age but he is already
recognized as one of the top young drivers in racing. 2006 marked
his first full season of racing a Daytona Prototype in the Grand-Am
Rolex Sports Car Series and he proved his abilities early and often.
He helped co-driver Jorg Bergmeister clinch the Daytona Prototype
championship, won back-to-back races at Daytona and Barber and
clinched his first-career pole. Braun finished fifth in the final
point standings despite missing three races during the season.
Earlier this season, Braun made headlines prior to the Sahlen’s Six
Hours of The Glen by signing a developmental driver deal with Roush
Fenway Racing. He will be entered in select ARCA races in 2007, and
will compete for Rookie-of-the-Year honors as well s the ARCA RE/MAX
Series championship in 2008. With his talent, it would not be
surprising to see Braun in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup or NASCAR Busch
Series within the next few years. He currently co-drives the #76
Krohn Racing Ford Riley with Max Papis. The talented duo will
compete at The Glen for the second this season in the Grand-Am Rolex
Sports Car Series race on Friday, August 10.
